Best Restaurants to Work at in Moldova β What to Look For
The "best" restaurant to work at isn't always the most famous one. Here's what actually matters when choosing a venue, instead of just picking a well-known name.
What really matters
- Average bill size. Higher-ticket venues mean better tips for the same number of tables β the most direct path to higher income.
- How tips are split. Some places let you keep your own tips, others pool them across the whole shift. Ask this in the interview, not after your first day.
- Schedule stability. Venues with fixed shifts (not "whatever comes up") are easier to combine with school or another job.
- Staff turnover. High turnover is a red flag. If a job listing says "urgently hiring waiters" month after month, the job might be genuinely tough.
- Training and growth. Chains and larger venues more often offer a path to senior waiter or floor manager.
Venue types β trade-offs
Premium restaurants β high tips, but strict standards and a dress code.
Chain cafes β stable, predictable processes, somewhat lower tips.
Bars and clubs β evening shifts, strong weekend income, but a fast-paced environment.
How to check a venue before the interview
Visit as a customer, look up staff reviews if available, and gauge how busy the floor actually is. A steady flow of guests means steady tips.
